About

Our Approach

Your Way Psychology Services is dedicated to providing personalised psychology services to individuals, families, and carers. Our focus is on empowering clients through psychological skill building, psychotherapy, and play therapy, all in a flexible and accommodating manner. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment for personal growth and well-being, and to meet our clients where they're at.

Atu Mwakasendo

Psychologist

​Atu is a registered Psychologist and Behaviour Support Practitioner who is passionate about supporting individuals to live their best life. Atu has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of disability and mental health.

 

Atu utilises a variety of client and family-centred modalities and believes in a neuro-affirming approach. Atu has experience supporting individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Schizophrenia, Anxiety and Depressive disorders, and other conditions. Atu is passionate about personalising and suiting therapy to the individual and their needs.

Outside of work, Atu enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and pet dog and cat. Atu loves being outdoors, loves to travel, and is passionate about creativity, art and music.

​

Atu is also involved in and is the current President of 'Hope Tanzania Australia', a charity organisation where he applies his passion for helping individuals, to the area of health and education projects in impoverished Tanzanian communities.

In person, flexible and personalised support

Our individual psychology sessions offer a safe space for clients to explore and process their thoughts and emotions, and work on psychological skills to assist them to achieve their goals. Through a personalized approach, we aim to meet individuals where they're at, and offer support in the way that works for them. Sessions can be had at home, outdoors, at school, and more.

Promoting well-being and managing behaviour

Our behaviour support services include formulating, writing, implementing, and updating Positive Behaviour Support Plan's, for individuals, supports, and carers who require this. This service is about providing strategies to deal with challenging behaviour and promote an individual's flourishing.

Psychology Sessions

Zoom or Telehealth

Our Psychology sessions can also be held remotely via zoom and telehealth (telephone). This service can be combined with in person sessions in a flexible manner to meet your needs.
